Hi, I’m Zsolt.

I’m an engineer with a long-standing interest in how systems work — not just in theory, but in real environments.

Much of my work has involved designing, operating, and troubleshooting infrastructure: networks, servers, power systems, and the processes around them.

I’ve lived and worked in Sierra Leone for almost 15 years. That time has given me a deep understanding of the local internet ecosystem — how networks here connect, where traffic really flows, and what it takes to keep things running in real conditions.

I value clarity, practicality, and solutions that remain reliable over time. I’m less interested in trends and buzzwords, and more interested in things that quietly work.

My work mostly revolves around infrastructure and systems engineering. This includes network design and operation, server infrastructure, monitoring, automation, and reliability work.

Among other things, I built an Internet Exchange Point in Sierra Leone, where networks peer over BGP to keep local traffic local and depend less on international transit.

Some projects touch telecom platforms or large deployments, but the underlying focus is always the same: understanding the system as a whole and making it work better.

I’m interested in mechanical systems, power and energy flow, geography, and how infrastructure shapes daily life.

I enjoy hands-on problem solving — diagnosing issues, improving setups, and understanding why things fail.

I also farm. I keep livestock — chickens, pigs, goats and cows — and crocodiles. A farm is a system like any other: feed, water, power and health all have to keep working, every day.

On weekends you’ll find me on a dirt bike — enduro, off the beaten track. And at the bench, building electronics: DIY projects and IoT devices, from soldering iron to working sensor.

I occasionally write short notes about engineering, infrastructure, and systems thinking.
